Last week my dear Italian friend was celebrating her birthday… she bravely invited 15 people to join her.. as she lives in a doll house and her kitchen is really tiny, she asked her friends to bring a dish.
So there we were, 8 different nationalities (Italian, Pakistani, Brazilian, Austrian, Ecuadorian, Macedonian, British), a mix of cultures, languages and food!! The wide variety of dishes brought by the guests (Greek beans, Italian polenta, stuffed cabbage leaves, quiche, Brazilian kind-of-quiche) worked very well, but I believe that the one that everyone raved about the most was the Carrot Cake. We Brazilians are always very proud of our Carrot Cake with condensed milk+chocolate topping, but this Carrot Cake made by an Italian lady was top dollar (hehehe, that’s for you Inaam!)! I couldn’t resist and asked her for the recipe… I hope you all like it!
